DJI Phantom 4 Quadcopter – Your Ultimate Review of a Follow & film me drone.

If you’re eager to learn more about the DJI Phantom 4 Quadcopter, then you’ve come to the right place. In this review, we are going to take a close look at the key features of this quadcopter, so you’ll soon understand why it’s so well-regarded as one of the top models currently available. With this in mind, let’s get started.

First of all, this feature packed quadcopter is easily one of the best on the market at the moment. With a high-quality camera, advanced avoidance systems, and a streamlined magnesium body, it’s certainly made a big impression in the marketplace.

The Phantom 4 is the latest incarnation of the famous Phantom series from DJI, and while the Phantom 3 certainly achieved fantastic reviews, they really pulled out all the stops and delivered an exceptional new drone with the Phantom 4.

Unparalleled flight times

While most drones struggle to fly for more than 10 to 12 minutes per flight, the DJI Phantom 4 is capable of an astonishing 28 minutes of flying time, which gives you a lot of versatility when you’re in the air, especially when it comes to obtaining breathtaking shots using the onboard camera.

But, if 28 minutes of flying time still isn’t enough to you, then it’s a good idea to purchase a few additional batteries, which are available for a reasonable price.
This means you can stay in the air for a very long time – and seeing as the batteries will charge within an hour, keeping two of three with you at all times will mean you’ll have a constant supply of flight time.

High-quality camera

Of course, one of the key features of any drone is the camera, and this is another area where the DJI – Phantom 4 Quadcopter does not disappoint at all.
It uses a gimbal stabilizer technology, along with a 12-megapixel camera that will deliver exceptional quality and very stable pictures.

Follow me and film

With the Phantom 4, you can pick any subject in view on the DJI app (that receives the livestream from the drone’s camera), select it, and the Phantom will follow it, keeping it in frame.
This means you could follow a bike, car, animal, anything that the drone can see, without having to use a ground-based GPS/location device (like other quadcopters require).

Easy control

Yet another fantastic feature of this quadcopter is how easy it is to fly. It comes with its own unique obstacle detection system which means it will automatically avoid collisions, and this means you can rest assured that it will stay safe during takeoff and landings.
What’s more, it’s astonishingly easy to fly due to the simple Tap Fly system, which allows you to fly with a simple tap of your finger, and ultimately makes it one of the most simplest flight systems you are ever likely to see on the drone market.

Exceptional range

It’s also worth noting that DJI Phantom 4 drone is capable of being controlled from a long distance – with a maximum control range being listed at 3.1 miles! This just goes to show that it is in a league of its own when it comes to long-range aerial imaging drones. You’re certainly going to love this versatility that gives you compared to any other drone available right now.

Top performance

If you put this drone into “sport” mode, then you will really unlock some of the incredible performance capabilities of this drone. In particular, it is capable of a top speed close to 45 mph, which means you’ll be zipping around the air at an incredibly fast rate.

However, it’s standard obstacle avoidance mode means you will be cruising along at 22 mph for most of the time while the normal mode gives you a respectable speed of 35 mph. Obviously, the top speed requires a little more skill and expertise, and the obstacle avoidance will be disabled.

Combine this fast speed with the 28 minutes of flying time a maximum range of 3.1 miles and you’ll quickly understand why the overall performance of this drone is so well regarded. It comfortably holds a top ranking with many drone experts.

  • Obviously we’re biased but, nice review.

And yes, we agree the Phantom 4 is definitely one of the best drones on the market right now. At least in the consumer segment.

Once you leave that segment the Inspire (at least the Pro) will blow it away but then, that’s a different price segment as well.
